New Platform Explores California’s Love/Hate Relationship with Recreational Marijuana Legislation
‘Rec’d: The Other Side of Legalization’, a brand-new weekly documentary podcast series about the developments – and unintended consequences – of legalization in the world’s largest marijuana market of California, has launched on leading subscription services Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify and Stitcher.
Christopher Trout and Reena Karia, the progressive co-founders of San Francisco-based cannabis creative group and multi-media production house The Grass Agency, have shaped an online space for open discussion with regulators, activists, lawyers, celebrities and business leaders about the many concerns and complexities facing the Golden State since legalizing recreational weed in January 2018.
Trout and Karia will join marijuana, wine and food marketing consultant Brandi Moody (former marketing director at Caliva, one of california’s biggest cannabis retailers) as they host the debut episode ‘Lighting the fuse’, interviewing Steve DeAngelo, the ‘father of the legal cannabis industry’ and founder of Harborside dispensary in Northern California, and Lori Ajax of the state’s Bureau of Cannabis Control.
Discussions will include California’s current challenges during this ‘experimental’ phase of adjustment, including the toll on farmers, the aftermath of the War on Drugs, the death of medical marijuana, the booming illicit market, and what the long-term future holds for the state and country.
Rec’d is one-part talk show, one-part documentary series and a total trip. For more information visit https://www.thegrassagency. com/recd-podcast-1 and follow on Twitter and Instagram @TheGrassAgency.
