ARTISTS JOIN FORCES TO REJUVENATE FLACCID TACO COCK

The original Taco Cock taco stand opened its doors in 1973 in the burgeoning Arts District of Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende where its famous rooster logo became a symbol of unique taco-themed art and amazing pollo asada tacos. The local community was so enamored with Taco Cock tacos, that waiting in line for over 45 minutes to experience one of these tasty treats became part of the adventure. But this local favorite was shut down 14 years lateramidst a crippling legal tangle following outlandish claims about its celebrity clientele, misidentifying them as Taco Cock collaborators and endorsers.
“I remember first hearing about Taco Cock when I was little,” says Todd Francis, architect of the relaunch, “but I didn’t think it was real. I always thought it was a funny way for us kids say something profane without getting into trouble.” It wasn’t until Todd and longtime friend Porous Walker played a whisky-inspired game of “remember when” that Todd realized it was in fact real. “I couldn’t believe he thought it was legend,” reveals Porous of the famed Taco Cock. “I actually had to dig out an old T-shirt to prove it.”
One thing led to another, and Todd and Porous partnered up to release a collection of T-shirts and sweatshirts bearing Taco Cock’s original iconic logo which they quietly launched earlier this month. Since then, sales have taken off, and Porous Walker, with crayon in hand, is in the early planning stages of what he has only revealed to be “¡EL PHASE 2!”
